Hainan College of Economics and Business, Founded in 1984, the Hainan College of Economics and Business(HCEB) is a state-owned public university that focuses on cultivating high-quality technical talents in finance and economics. Located in Haikou's newly developed Jiangdong District，it occupies an area of 1,032 acres, with complete facilities and a beautiful environment ideal for studying. Currently, there are 12 schools at HCEB, including the School of Financial Management, School of Business Administration,School of Information Technology, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, School of International Tourism, School of International Education, School of Humanities and Arts, the Ural Institute, School of Physical and Health Education, School of Marxism, Continuous Education College, and School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Forty-six junior college majors are offered as four‘4+0” joint training undergraduate major or three“3+2”stage-based majors, and the school currently has more than 13, 800 students, including more than 150 international students. More than 750 faculty members are employed, including more than 200 adjunct and visiting professors from universities,government departments, private enterprises and institutions at home and abroad. Today,HCEB is part of the campaign to develop the Hainan Free Trade teachers, students, and em employees of HCEB make concerted efforts to promote the establishment of elite vocational colleges with Chinese characteristics, seeking their place among vocational undergraduate educational institutions!
The implementation of the internationalised school-running strategy will enable HCEB students to have a higher and broader communication platform. We focus on the national“Belt and Road”strategy and international talent training needs, exploring multifaceted forms of international education cooperation. We have established cooperative relationships with the United States, Britain, Russia, Australia, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Ukraine, Belarus, Czech Republic and more than 40 universities and institutions in 30 countries or make efforts to promote the convergence and exchange of diverse cultures, mutual financing and learning as well as prosperity and development. Now we have international students from all over the world, especially in the countries along the “Belt and Road”. The scale of foreign students have always ranked first in the provincial vocational colleges. We bring in and even go global. A diverse, open and dynamic international exchange platform allows students to have good communications with the world. Meanwhile, we have established different projects to broaden students’ professional vision, such as short-term study tours, semester courses, “2+2”or “2+3”education programs, internships and various employment opportunities. Students could touch the forefront of the industry, and improve their ability to innovate, thus laying a solid foundation for becoming a professional talent active in the international arena in the future.
Guided by “professionalisation, internationalisation and informational”, with “knowledge, skills and quality” as the core, the School of International Education organically combines domestic education and international education, to create a model of school-business cooperation and international connections. The school recruits international students from 32 countries, including Russia, Australia, South Korea, Pakistan and Kazakhstan, to study in international business, tourism management, hotel management and vehicle inspection and maintenance, among others. More than 180 students with a diploma and more than 1,400 language students have successfully completed the program. The strong international atmosphere allows the international students to have more opportunities to take classes, practice, and participate in various campus activities together with Chinese students, facilitating a competitive atmosphere along with mutual learning and share progress, which can effectively improve students’ Chinese abilities and international communication skills.
